The Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences has been very active in international exchanges and cooperation of geosciences. Since the reform and opening up of China in late 1970s, the academy has made exchanges and conducted hundreds of cooperative projects with research institutes, universities and geological surveys of more than 50 countries and regions. It has long-term cooperative relations with organizations and institutions of Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, UK, USA, as well as many other countries.
