The International Symposium on Urban Geology and Utilization of Underground Space Held in Beijing

Centering on the theme of "Future-oriented exploration and utilization of underground space", the International Symposium on Urban Geology and Utilization of Underground Space was held in Beijing on November 12th , 2018, with the presence of over 120 participants from academies, universities and the industry.

During the one-day meeting, with an aim to exchange good practices and new experiences in the field of underground space utilization, 22 experts from home and abroad gave presentations on hot issues, including the exploration technology of underground space, the assessment theory of underground space utilization, the future trend of underground space and etc. The joint discussions will provid support for the integrated construction of ground and underground space, the scientific planning of national land,  and the sustainable development of cities.

Dr. Yan Guangsheng, the Chief Scientist of China Geological Survey and the Executive Vice President of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Dr. Raymond Sterling, the Founding President of Associated Research Centers for Urban Underground Space, Dr. Li Hongji, the Director of Nanjing Center of China Geological Survey attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
