China Geological Survey and Geological Survey of India Sign an MOU to Further Promote Geoscience Cooperation

On May 15, 2015, entrusted by Dr. Zhong Ziran, Vice Minister for Geological Survey, Ministry of Land and Resources of China and President of the China Geological Survey (CGS), Prof. Wang Xiaolie, Vice President of CGS and Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific Cooperation between China Geological Survey, Ministry of Land and Resources of the People’s Republic of China and Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines of the Republic of India in Geosciences with H.E. Mr. Ashok K. Kantha, the Ambassador of India to China in Beijing to further promote bilateral geoscience cooperation.

 

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the signing of the above MOU together with dozens of other agreements covering a wide range of cooperation areas.

 

In accordance with the MOU, the two parties will carry out comprehensive cooperation in a wide range of fields including basic geology, metallogenic correlation studies, environmental geology, hydrogeology, technologies applied in geological survey and geoanalysis etc.
